Everyone has something they’re naturally good at—something that feels so easy it almost doesn’t seem valuable. And that “easy” thing? THAT is your superpower. And when you build your sleep consulting business around it, you’re not just working smarter—you’re creating something that’s both sustainable and impactful.
Think about it: What’s the thing you do so naturally that people constantly say, “How do you make that look so easy?” Maybe you have a gift for simplifying complex ideas into actionable steps. Or maybe you’re amazing at making people feel heard, seen, and supported. These strengths aren’t just skills—they’re the things you can do with minimal effort that create maximum impact.
“But Rianna, what if my strengths don’t match what I see others doing?”
I get it. It’s so easy to fall into the comparison trap, especially when you see other Sleep Consultants nailing TikTok trends, launching courses, or showing up in the news. That little voice creeps in, whispering, “Should I be doing that too?” And before you know it, you’re questioning everything and feeling discouraged or behind.
It’s not surprising, really—our society—and even our education system—has trained us to focus on fixing our weaknesses. Having taught primary and secondary students for 15 years, this was one of my biggest frustrations. I saw students pouring endless energy into subjects they struggled with, while leaving their natural talents underdeveloped. The result? They became average at everything instead of exceptional at what they loved and excelled in.
The same principle applies to your business.
When you focus on fixing all the things you’re not good at, you end up spreading yourself too thin. But when you double down on your strengths—the things that feel effortless and bring you joy—you open the door to mastery. You create a business that’s aligned with who you are and powerful because it’s built on what makes you unique.
So let’s take a step back. Instead of trying to be everything for everyone, what if you focused on being amazing at the things you’re naturally great at? And adapt your marketing to this:
“I can break down complex sleep strategies into simple steps.”
“I can design beautiful client resources.”
“I can build deep, empathetic connections with overwhelmed parents.”
“I can speak confidently to groups and create engaging video content.”
Leaning into your strengths isn’t selfish—it’s smart. When you focus on what you do best, you’ll feel energized, and trust me, your clients will feel it too!
So, let’s make this VERRRRRRY practical:
Step 1: WHAT do you want? —> Let me guess… Clients? 😉
Step 2: HOW are you gonna do that? —> Strategy
Examples (don’t forget to tap into your strength!!):
* Posting on social media
* Writing blogs
* Doing podcasts
* Answering questions in FB groups
* Sending 1:1 texts to moms you know
* Setting up a playgroup
* All of the above
Step 3: WHEN are you going to do this?
Be precise: what day, what time, how often?
Step 4: Can you commit to this for the next 12 months?
Be honest!
—> Yes? Awesome!! Get started!! 💪🏼
—> No? Come up with a new strategy.
Truth is..
The Sleep Consultant that focuses on 1 thing for 12 months, will outwork every other sleep consultant that tries to do 5 things at once.
Don’t be intimidated by those who seem to be doing everything from the start, most of them end up completely drained, feeling overwhelmed and quit after a couple of months..
And that’s when you pass them.. 😉
Just like the tortoise passed the hare.. 😉
Have a great day!
